Owned and Operated by Jeff Cushner, K-9 CARE has been a reality for over 25 years providing quality in-home "One on Family" dog training, utilizing innovative, behavioral scientific training methods that will have your dog yearning to please you! This training differs from the traditional command only  methods by using your dogs’ own drives and instincts to allow them to make the decisions to want to follow your rules, whether you are with them or not!

I started my professional career as a systems programmer while and after attending Drexel University.  In 1982, after about 11 years in the field while living in California, I came to the conclusion that data processing was a career that I didn't want to pursue all the way to retirement.  I realized that working with people and their dogs would bring all my talents and loves together in one occupation that would truly help people and make a change.  As I began the pursuit of understanding dogs and dog behavior, I soon realized that most other dog "experts" were constantly contradicting others.   The main reason, I thought, was that they were either repeating what other past trainers had done or that they misunderstood the species.  I made it my personal goal to truly understand the Dog as best I could. By objectively researching, understanding and innovating all areas of dog behavior from the dog's point of view, I have truly succeeded in uderstanding dogs as well as the pitfalls that human owners experience in living with this unique species   So, K-9 Care has, through the years, has continued to develop a fresh approach innovating new teaching concepts and ways to visualize, as a person, what it truly is to think like a dog.  By continuing to develop decision-based training methods, my clients' dogs have learned what we want from them much clearer and faster than ever before.
